Curriculum
The Saint Francis Hospital Transitional Year Residency’s curriculum consists of 13 four-week rotation blocks.
The following rotations are required:
- Internal Medicine: 7 blocks (28 weeks)
- Surgery/Trauma: 1 block (4 weeks)
- Emergency Medicine: 1 block (4 weeks)
- Ambulatory Primary Care: 1 block (4 weeks)
The remaining blocks are eligible for elected rotations which include the following:

- Hematology–Oncology
- Rheumatology
- Dermatology
- Gastroenterology
- Medicine ICU
- Infectious Disease
- Diagnostic Radiology
- Rheumatology
- Dermatology
- Neurology
