Saint Francis Hospital Named to 100 Great Community Hospitals List by Becker’s Healthcare

EVANSTON, IL (July 18, 2025) – Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare Foundation, has been named to the exclusive 100 Great Community Hospitals list by Becker’s Healthcare. Saint Francis was recognized for its continued commitment to clinical excellence, academic advancement and personalized, whole-person care delivery.

Only eight of Illinois’ more than 200 hospitals were recognized among the nation’s 100 Great Community Hospitals by Beckers in its 2025 list.

According to Becker’s, the community hospitals featured on the complete 100 Great Community Hospitals list are focused on bringing clinical and academic excellence, personalized and holistic care, and overall improved health to their communities. The Becker’s editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on nominations and insights from respected rankings and ratings organizations, including U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, CMS, The Leapfrog Group, the National Rural Health Association and The Chartis Center for Rural Health.

In addition to the 100 Great Community Hospitals recognition, Saint Francis earned six “A” grades on the 2025–2026 Lown Institute Hospitals Index in the categories of Social Responsibility, Patient Safety, Health Equity, Community Benefit, Pay Equity, and Inclusivity. The hospital was ranked number one in both Illinois and the United States for Pay Equity and placed among the top five hospitals in Illinois for Patient Safety and Health Equity. Saint Francis also recently received its third consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit focused on patient safety.
